A Look At Wireless Network Communication Systems
Wireless network communication is a term commonly used for telecommunication network like a computer system in which the communication is possible without the need of interconnecting the nodes by the use of wires. Uninterrupted communication is very important to men folks. The ability to communicate with each other has made men the most powerful beings on earth. Because we interact with each other, we tend to learn more. Thats also the reason why we feel the need to search for increasingly sophisticated ways to communicate over longer ranges. This is the need that drove us to invent postal systems, telephone systems, media, and most recently the internet network system.
The sole aim of the internet was that there should be no barriers to communication. As businesses grew overseas and people were required to travel more frequently, limitations of wired networks came to light. People found it hard to communicate and function effectively when they were out for some work. Then the search began for technologies that could enable people to travel and work simultaneously. And this led to the invention of wireless network communication. Wireless Network communication is of several types: * Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN): Wireless Local Area Network is a technology that uses electromagnetic or radio signals to transmit data from one node to another. * Global System for Mobile Communications: The GSM system is divided in to three stations -- the base station, the station that receives signals from the cell phone; the support and operation station, which adds operations and services to the signal; and transfers them to the switching station, the station which ultimately transfers the signal where it is required to go. * Personal Communication Service: PCS is a wireless communication service that provides radio band to the cell phones that are in use in North America. Sprint was the first company that used this service. * Wi-Fi:In this type of wireless communication, Wi-Fi networks send radio signals which are then received by machines that have Wi-Fi receivers installed on them. * Fixed Wireless Data: In this system, two or more buildings are interconnected in order to share a common bandwidth of network in such a way that they do not require any sort of wiring between them. * D-AMPS: D-AMPS is Digital Advance Mobile Phone Service, an upgraded version of AMPS. It is no longer in use as GSM has taken over the market and is much more advanced in comparison. There are many companies in the market that build wireless network communications solutions. Leading among them are: Michtel Communications, WPCS International, Verizon, and Nextel. |
