Wireless Network Manager- Some Details
A wireless network manager manages all the activities related to a network. Network management depends on the application of the network currently in use. Different network environments may not have a particular way to manage the network but still there are some common elements that can be applied to almost all applications of network. If we define network management, it means to utilize network resources or components and to increase the reliability and to make network activities more effective and smooth. Before deciding the entire network managing strategies, there are few points that you should consider. There are in all six points that are required to be considered. Based on these points, functional areas and scope of the network is defined. These six points are:
* Decide who the best person to manage the network is. * Think on what all things should be managed. * The type of help and tools that are available. * Decide upon the level of authority to be given. * Decide upon the quality levels. * The limit up to which the current process can be integrated with other processes. There is a lot of infrastructure that is required to be set up in order to establish or to manage a network. You should also decide which task should be managed by which department. For example, who to assign the security related tasks, who should manage all help and support related activities and who should manage authentication related issues. In order to run a network in a smoother way, it should be equipped with all the features and tools to function well. Your business activities and the output depends on the type of network installed. If your network keeps on giving problems, it may result into loss of money and time and the worst part is that you loose your customer if he/she is not satisfied with services that you provide. An automated network management tool is used to monitor the network continuously. There are in all five major functional areas addressed by ISO (International Organization for Standards) to set some network standards. These areas are accounting management, performance management, security management, fault management and configuration management. Under this management system all accounting or billing details are handled. Performance management is all about performance related issues in network bandwidth or resource management. Like this the network performance is watched out for. Security management deals with all security related issues. It controls the user access to the network. Fault management is all about managing fault related issues. Configuration management is about handling network configuration related issues. All the above mentioned tasks are handled by a wireless network manager. |
